Mylaps ChampionChip Classic - the "king" of timing systems

The success of 1994 Berlin Marathon was due mainly to the newly developed (Mylaps) ChampionChip timing system; the first built-in transponder timing system in the world. Manufacturers have since been trying to further develop and perfect the system, using the experiences and feedback from active timing teams from around the world. In no small part has the input from the Hungarian timing team been instrumental in adding to the now world-famous success of the technology.

It is worth noting, that the five largest marathons of the world- Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York City Marathon all use this system and in these events the Mylaps ChampionChip timing system is able to provide exact and accurate timing for more than 152.000 finishers. CC Classic

The system's effectiveness is exemplified by not only handling an almost unquantifiable amount of time registrations, but by comprehensively registering the data of a limitless number of athletes during a mass start. This technology can be used for giving additional split times besides the Start and Finish times, and with the help of the built-in GPRS it can process further data for online applications.

For cycling races the system has a precision of 0.1 second, manageable due to the chip being attached to a uniform position on the front fork. In the case of road races, where it is not possible to determine which leg will reach the finish line first, and according to the rules AIMS, the system rounds the results up to the nearest 1 second. The ChampionChip timing system easily provides the high level timing service required on all competitions certified by the UCI, ETU, and ITU.

The classical transponder (chip) of the Mylaps ChampionChip is passive, (requiring an external power source), providing an unrestricted lifespan. The required power is provided by an electro-magnetic field generated by the timing mats which energize the chip as the athletes passes over them. Due to this unrestricted lifespan, a personal Mylaps ChampionChip can be used anywhere in the world at any of the thousands of events timed with the Mylaps ChampionChip technology.

Mylaps Portable ChampionChip Timing System - the expert of "smaller" events

DigiCaseThis is a simplified and more compact version of the Mylaps ChampionChip System. We suggest using it during smaller events where the number of athletes is only a few hundred. This system also works with the standard Mylaps ChampionChip transponder allowing personal chips to be used here too.

Mylaps ProChip System (Apex) - the system of "elite" events

This is an active system designed for elite competitions. Detection of the ProChips is made using two antennas wires instead of timing mats. These two antenna can be taped to the floor, or embedded beneath the surface (sand/soil/snow) or cut into grooves on surfaces such as asphalt or concrete. The accuracy is 0,01 second and up to 100km/h. Since 2007 it has supplied the official times for the IAAF and additionally has provided the high level timing service on competitions certified and sanctioned by the UCI, ETU, and ITU.AMB_chip

The system's active transponder has an internal energy source resulting in a much higher per unit cost. The advantages include no timing mats and a far greater degree of accuracy, in addition to increased flexability making it easier to serve a greater variety of events  e.g.: swimming, kayak-canoe, horse races, and skating etc.

The ability to detect up to 3.000 chips per minute and have a flexible width timing point makes the Mylaps ProChip system the choice of professional events.

Finish Lynx - the flexible "Photo Finish"

PhotoFinishChampionChip Hungary's photofinish camera takes 1000 pieces of photos every second. With such an unequivocal degree of accuracy the system assists competition judges in making clear and decisive judgements of very high speed and very close finish situations. The system's built-in sensors do not miss any movement and the equipment can be operated continuously for several days.

MicroGraph - the "pixel" gantry clock

MicrographThe electromagnetic clock used by our company has a 30 hour built-in accumulator and can receive a remote  Start signal from up to 2 km away. The display itself is easily visible from 200 meter away and on the sunniest days. As the display is made of pixels, data can be visualized in between 1-3 rows.
