Mylaps ChampionChip Classic - the "king" of timing systems

The success of 1994 Berlin Marathon is mainly due to the newly developed ChampionChip timing system which is the first built-in transponder timing system in the world. Manufacturers are trying to develop and make the system perfect continuously by using the experiences and remarks of active timing teams from different parts of the world too. In this way, the Hungarian remarks, and suggestions have also added to the world-famous success of the technology.

It is not accidental, that the five largest marathons of the world- Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York City Marathon also use this system. The classical transponder of ChampionChip has not got self-power, so its life expectation is not restricted. Devices placed next to the timing points are responsible for the operation of these, the well known red mats fill up the chip with energy as the athlete passes on them. Mylaps ChampionChip Timing Kit - the expert of "small" events

This is the simplified version of ChampionChip Classic. We suggest using it during smaller events where the number of athletes takes only a few hundred. This system also works with the typical ChampionChip transponder, that is why personal chips can be used here too.

Mylaps AMB - ChampionChip APEX - the system of "elite" events

This is a real active system made for elite competitions. For it's operation you do not need mats, 2 pieces of wires receive the signals of the chips. These two wires can be laid down on the floor, stretched or glued to the timing points. Its accuracy is 0,01 second, which is available for runners with wearing a torso belt. The system saves it's accuracy until the speed of 100km per hour. Since 2007 it has been able to supply the official times for IAFF, additionally it can also make high level timing service on competitions qualified by UCI, ETU, ITU.

The system's active transponder has an internal energy source, which makes the manufacturing cost multiple, but on the other hand, there is no need to use the red mats, furthermore it provides a more accurate timing. Because the settling of the timing points are much more easier in this way, the system could serve more kind of events  e.g.: swimming, kayak-canoe, horse races, and skating also.

The capacity of this system is unbelievable. It is able to sense 3000 chips per minute, and the width of timing points can be determined by the organizers.

The electromagnetic clock used by our company has a 30 hour built-in accumulator and can receive Start signal from 2 km distance, and well visible from 200 meter. Its display has pixels, therefore the data can be visualized even in 3 rows and its visibility is also good at the sunniest day.
