About us

The Championchip Hungary Ltd,-which was founded firstly in Hungary as a timing Ltd in 2003-, provides its services with great experience, wide horizon and with regard to the circumstantial needs of competition organizers. As a result of the continuous developments, our team is much sought after supplier of active sport events not just in the Hungarian market, but as special experts we are often invited from different parts of the world by organizers, and timing companies to fulfil special, greater or highly responsible tasks.

It is a great pleasure that our professional team is available on the Hungarian market not just for prominent competitions, -but considering everyone's request- the smaller competitions also get the most advanced, well practised service with top-level references. Our team is quite adaptable to the unexpected situations of the competitions, overcoming the greater difficulties is our daily task from week to week. Fortunately the huge experiences, which have been accumulated during the long series of events, help to solve problems rapidly, among other things this is the reason why the satisfied customers like to cooperate with us.

In 2004 we were able to prove the trustworthiness of the technology, as well as our ability to operate it in several sports arts. According to the expectations of the Dutch parent company, we rendered our services at an international level. Our engineers achieved perfectly in the timing tasks of events like walking, road running, duathlon, triathlon and mountain biking. In the 2004 season one of our biggest experiences was the National Long-distance Triathlon Championship, where we timed 14 split-times per participant in diverse locations.

In 2005, thanks to our stamina and hard, precise work, the range of our tasks widened and became more complex. In our competition calendar some European Championships, European Cups and AIMS competition days appeared. The announcers and judges of the races came to like our data service, which supplied continuous information about the competitors for them. Due to the increased demand on our services, we raised the number of our timing systems. The data transfer of the timing detection from the remote split points to the main computer was secured by GPRS connection.

In 2006 because of the achieved successes on the renowned races, our competition calendar increased further. Consequently, at this year we enlarged our team, so at that time we were able to comply with the high requirements of two separate competitions at the same time. Furthermore we serviced outstanding races in Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Italy and Romania as well. The latest development of our engineers is the live TV broadcast data service, with the help of which, we supply the video signs necessary for the mixing of the titles to the local broadcasting van.

We expanded our capacity in 2007, this means we purchased more timing systems, a Photo Finish Camera and additionally we set up our third Timing Team. In the meantime, we launched the online result handling system at our renewed website. We provided the results of 31 000 athletes only in Hungary, and  with the foreign timings, altogether 40 000 athletes received their precise times during 61 days of the events. The International Triathlon Union (ITU) acknowledged our achievement on the Duathlon World Championship in Győr as an international level performance.

The year 2008 started with the installation of timepoint built-in system at Margaret Island. Our aim is that this system will provide the possibility of keeping an electronic diary not just for runners in the capital, but this system will be available in swimming pools, and on cycle tracks too on different parts of the country. Our developments refer of course not just to the area of built-in systems, we presented the APEX system,-which is an active system intended for the elite competitions of Championchip-, and the Championchip X5 Tracker technology this year. The organizers could make the competitions more spectacular and colourful with the help of X5 technology, by tracking and visualizing the locations of individual competitors, or might as well the positions of sailing teams too.

In 2009, we tried our wings in new sports like dragon-boat, wheelchair, ski-orienteering, long distance swim, and in the timing of modern pentathlon. We got to 4 out of 8 stage of the ITU Triathlon World series including the Australian World Championship. In this year we improved and presented our online TV graphics system for the world on Istambul Marathon, while in Hungary our 5X GPS Tracking system was introduced on the Nike Halfmarathon in Budapest.

If you are personally interested in the way our built systems and services work in practice, you are welcome at any time together with your colleagues on our events. You can get the exact date of the competitions if you announce it. Please feel free to consult our competition calendar below!
